Business travel takes me to communities throughout our province. As I meet people from different walks of life, of all ages and from all socio-economic backgrounds, it strikes me that these people - who on the surface have so many differences - express one common sentiment: a concern about what Alberta’s future holds.

I have vision; the Alberta Liberals have a plan.

The ball is in your court.

Alberta Ball image So, why is the ball in your court? Because you have the power to make change.

The greatest single virtue in a one-person, one-vote democracy is that all ballots are equal. The stay-at-home mom… the student… the engineer… the artist… the CEO… the professional athlete… we all have an equal voice.

Albertans can no longer afford a government that has no vision and operates without a plan. When a light bulb goes dark, we change it. When a tire goes flat, we change it. When a diaper gets stinky, we change it.

After 36 years in power, the PC government is tired and rudderless, but it’s their arrogance and sense of entitlement that continually raises people’s eyebrows.Why is it that no one in our current government takes responsibility for his or her mistakes? It’s always someone else’s fault. They obfuscate and don’t answer simple questions, but more puzzling is how the current premier and his cabinet are allowed to distance themselves from costly decisions they made as part of the previous cabinet.

The PC government squandered away billions of dollars in lost royalties and yet it was ONLY Ralph Klein’s fault? There’s no moral safe house – they’re all to blame.

It’s time for a change.
